This is what gold can be useful for(not gold tools or armor, they suck):
- Golden carrot; this carrots are more special than you think. You see if you eat these you will always get your hunger bar full even with zero hunger so golden carrots are the most filling food in minecraft. You can even breed horses, donkeys and mules with it!
- Golden apple; This shiny apples are worth all the mining and searching for all the gold because if you eat it gives you a ton of buffs like fire resistance, resistance , abosrbation and healing. If you use gold blocks instest of regular gold you will get an enchanted golden apple which gives you better and stronger buff.
- Piglin trading; if you throw some gold at a piglin or a zombie piglin in the neather it will pick it up, look at it and drop something for you. Its good if you want crying obsdion to make a spawn point in the neather. Also if you wear gold armor of some sort(ok maybe they don't completly suck) the piglins will not attack.
